Richard Birch's play of the day at Windsor

Honour Your Dreams

5.00 Windsor

Honour Your Dreams is blessed with a very high cruising speed for a low-grade sprinter, and he appeals in Windsor’s 5f handicap.

He fits nicely into this 49-68 Class 5 on a mark of 68 and, although on first glance it appears the five-year-old has nothing in hand of the handicapper, there could be a little more improvement to come after wind surgery at the start of this year.

The three-time winner lines up in top form after placed efforts at Chelmsford and Doncaster last month, and might just have a class edge over his rivals.

Ancient Times and Opal Storm, who finished in front of Honour Your Dreams at Doncaster, are both well handicapped and my selection went down with all guns blazing.

Notre Maison and Secret Handsheikh look likely to duel for early supremacy, but Honour Your Dreams also has plenty of pace and is capable of keeping close tabs on the pair before drawing upsides over a furlong out.

If the wind surgery helps him to finish off his races a little better, there is no reason why he cannot take command in the closing stages.
