The pick of the bets at Newmarket is Poet Master, who can make it two from two at the course in the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards Challenge Stakes (2.25).

The Karl Burke-trained five-year-old won a 15-runner course-and-distance handicap in April last year and has improved significantly since then. He won a Group 2 at the Curragh three months later and looked on his way back to form when second in France last month.

Poet Master was beaten just half a length by Roshvar in the Group 3 Prix du Pin at Longchamp on his first start since March and is entitled to improve significantly for the run. He should be difficult to contain coming in relatively fresh at this late stage of the campaign.
