Graeme Rodway's play of the day at Chester

Jouncy
3.20 Chester
1pt win
His dam Joyeuse is a half-sister to the mighty Frankel and Jouncy has been tried in decent company himself. He took fifth in the Group 1 Middle Park at Newmarket last September and filled that same position in the Listed Cathedral Stakes at Salisbury last time, albeit well held there.
He still finished only four and three-quarter lengths behind winner Fair Angellica and is now found a far easier assignment on his handicap debut by trainer Andrew Balding, who loves a winner at Chester. He is 37-182 here in the last five seasons, for a £37.06 profit to a £1 stake.
Jouncy is bred to relish the return to this trip because all of his half-siblings were at their best over at least this far, while the visor which he wore twice last season, including when runner-up in the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at Kempton, is on. He should be too good for these from stall three.
