Permian Dante victory leads to Derby gamble on Cracksman

>>Permian defied a high of 17.5 in running on his way to a 10-1 win in the Betfred Dante at York.

The winner held the challenge of 4-1 favourite Benbatl, who had touched 2.52, to score by three-quarters of a length.

Crystal Ocean, who had shortened to 4-1 as support came in through the week, drifted markedly and went off at 8-1 – with a Betfair SP of 10.5 – before finishing well into third.
