Paul Smith tipped all seven Wolverhampton winners on Tuesday - he's back today

Our Spotlight expert went through the card this week and returns at Lingfield

Spotlight expert Paul Smith went through the card at Wolverhampton on Tuesday in a remarkable feat of tipping and he's back with his top advice on a stellar card at Lingfield on Good Friday.

Smith, a renowned horseracing tipster with years of experience, put up all seven winners on the evening all-weather card at Wolverhampton, resulting in a brilliant 1,123-1 acca.

It capped a great spell for Smith, who in March tipped 34 winners from 87 runners – fine results that would have led to a level-stakes profit of £53.51 and a profit on investment of 61.5 per cent.

'It all fell into place'

Reflecting on Tuesday's performance, Smith said: "You're trying to find as many winners as you can when writing Spotlights but the nature of the task means you regularly have to provide a selection in a race you have no strong view on. Going through the card is usually a pipedream as it requires the perfect storm of manageable fields and races you actually have an opinion on.

"Fortunately on Tuesday it all fell into place. The two middle-distance races (something I steer well clear of as a punter) were won by horses who didn't take much finding and there were three modest sprints, which are where I focus most of my attentions.

The Wolverhampton winners

5.10: Khatm, 15-8
5.40: Doc Sportello, 4-5f
6.10: Mutabaahy, 11-4
6.40: Boss Power, 8-15f
7.10: Marshall Plan, Evensf
7.40: Wudashudacuda, 7-2 (nap)
8.10: Makambe, 16-5

"The reaction has all been quite embarrassing and I'm fully aware that it is unlikely to be repeated, but the thought that someone out there may have won a few quid does validate it. Things were quickly back to normal on Wednesday at Kempton too!

"If I had to give preference for one of Friday's Lingfield selections it would definitely be Apollo One (3.45). The consensus seems to be that he was flattered when winning last time but I'm taking the view that he's just a very promising three-year-old and we're getting a bigger price than we should because he represents a small yard."
