Alminar may be at the head of the market, but he looks like a seriously progressive young chaser and may take some stopping on this step up to a marathon trip.

He closed last season with a career best effort, finishing strongly to dead-heat on the line at Ffos Las in February, and after a pipe-opener back there in November, he was again especially strong at the finish when a five-length winner at Chepstow.
