Owen targets Cheltenham success with 33-1 and 12-1 ITV tips

Given his good recent form, it's a surprise to see Neville's Cross at such a big price. He was an improved horse over fences last season and was kept busy over the summer, last seen winning at Bangor.

He defeated a horse who has won three time since in that race and he remains feasibly treated off a 5lb higher rating. Tom Lacey's string are in excellent form too, which sweetens the pot.

This stiff test will suit a horse who has won over further in the past and the ground will not be a problem either.

As you would expect for a Pertemps qualifier, this is devilishly competitive. I will give the nod to Story Rory for Thomas Gibney, who is in excellent form after a win at Sligo two starts ago.

His most recent third at Listowel was another strong performance, with both runs coming over 2m4f. The furthest he has tried under rules is 3m (just once) and he was not stopping when winning over 2m6f at Ballinrobe in May.

This stiffer test should pose no problem to him and he also has form on faster surfaces. He is up in grade and in the handicap, but he remains unexposed and should have improvement in the locker as a stayer.
