Antonio Gallardo has been the man to follow at the current Tampa Bay meet, having ridden ten more winners than any other jockey at a strike-rate of 24 per cent. He is fancied to be on the mark again on Sunday, with Blazing Brooke in the 8.12.

The selection is in a weak claimer for fillies and mares and is one of few runners in the race with good recent form behind her. Having been 1-11 at the start of 2020, she has improved to 3-16 of late and has also been second on her last two starts.

In fact, she is yet to be out of the frame in six starts at Tampa Bay. She was strictly a beaten favourite last time, but she was well clear of the rest in second and now has much more favourable conditions with winner Lady Love. Blazing Brooke has a 2lb pull and the inside stall this time, with Lady Love out wide (she was on the runner-up's inside last time). Count on Gallardo to bring Blazing Brooke home.

Daniel Centeno is having a good meet, being third in the jockeys' table in terms of winners, but he may live to regret jumping off Romantic Gizmo for Vaunt in the 6f claimer at 9.43.

Romantic Gizmo has made just two starts at Tampa Bay and probably needed the first of them. She was second last time, shaping pretty well, and has even better form to call on looking backwards. Her track work has also been strong, suggesting the fire burns as brightly as it ever did.

The closing race is Gulfstream (11.29) is one of the best on the card. A claimer over 1m1f, it contains quite a few useful types including Bourbon In May, who represents Todd Pletcher (leading trainer at the meet) with Irad Ortiz in the saddle. Better drawn than the favourite and receiving 5lb, she is a value option.

The problem for Bourbon In May, and Robintakincharge, is the draw. The latter is drawn in stall 7, which is not quite as big a problem as Ortiz will have from the outside stall, number 10.

It could well be worth taking a chance on Keep Quiet. This six-year-old ran at the Breeders' Cup as a juvenile and has shown form well up to this level recently. He has left Steve Asmussen since his last start, but new trainer Robert Hess has won with four of his 16 runners at this meet (four more have placed) and would not be a major step down while in this form.

Keep Quiet was third at Stakes level as recently as September and has a decent draw in stall 5. With Tyler Gaffalione (second most successful rider at the meet so far) up he can go well against the likely favourite.
