Newmarket Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his perm for Friday's fixture

A cracking card for the Placepot at Newmarket kicks off with a mile Listed race (1.50) for fillies, and Crystal Caprice rates banker material. She is in great form and held in high regard.

Charlie Appleby always bangs in the winners on Newmarket's Rowley Mile and his Eternal Pearl is the solid option in the 1m4f Group 3 (2.25). Peripatetic looks the best alternative.

Commissioning was impressive when winning on her debut on the July course and is fancied to build on that in the Rockfel Stakes (3.00). Eximious is another who could improve further.

The Joel Stakes (3.35) is the co-feature, and the consistent Pogo rates one of the best bets of the day. Only two places are on offer, though, so it's worth taking out insurance with El Drama.

Appleby is the man to follow again in the 7f maiden (4.10) and his newcomer Regal Honour will be hard to beat. It's also worth putting in Kolsai, who has the best form of those who have run.

The 1m4f Listed race (4.45) is the last leg of the Placepot and Siskany is fancied to bounce back from a disappointing run at Newbury last week. Stablemate Global Storm is next best.
