Newcastle Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway's selections for a £100,000 pool
The Tote are putting up their £100,000 Placepot guarantee at Newcastle’s twilight fixture.
The opening 1m2f handicap (3.20) is a good opportunity for a banker because nine are declared and three places are on offer. Stick with course-and-distance winner Freak Out.
The mile handicap (3.55) is more tricky with only six declared and two places available. Little Jo is a consistent course-and-distance winner and he goes in along with Asdaa.
The mile novice (4.25) comes up next and only seven runners makes it tough. With just the two places on offer it’s worth sticking with the form horses, Central Hall and Weydaad.
The following 7f handicap (4.55) is more competitive and three places will be on offer provided all eight stand their ground. Parallel World is the main pick alongside Tickets.
Clipsham La Habana is progressing rapidly and rates a banker in the 6f novice (5.25), while in the 6f nursery (5.55) it looks worth taking a chance on the course form of Cheeky Maxi.
