Newcastle Placepot picks: Tom Collins provides his all-weather perm on Tuesday

Unexposed stayers set for winter all-weather campaigns can prove valuable to follow, and both Raiff and Nastasiya are worth selecting in your Newcastle Placepot perms as they face stalwarts of the division in the opening 1m4½f handicap (2.25).

The following 1m2f handicap (2.55) is arguably the toughest race on the card. It's possible to make a case for a handful of runners in a wide-open affair, but the improving Cosa Sara and course winner Engles Rock are selected.

Now it's time for two bankers. Recent debut scorer Blackjack should make the frame in the 6f novice (3.25), especially with eight runners, while Kaboo is a class above in the following 5f novice (4.00) and can defy top weight.

A couple of small-field races close out the Placepot, so playing safe is advised. Masked Identity, who seeks a four-timer and won with any amount in hand at Southwell 11 days ago, has to be chosen in the mile handicap (4.30). Bottomweight Vindobala is used as back-up.

Likely pacesetter Lead Story is a solid choice in the 7f finale (5.00). He is fancied to reverse recent form with Maywake. Also include the class-dropping Orbaan, who is well handicapped off a mark of 91.
