Newbury Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his perm for the Berkshire track

The opening 6f maiden (1.15) isn’t an easy race to solve for Placepot punters, so it’s worth having two goes. Dark Swansong is the form horse and Deodar is an interesting newcomer.

It doesn’t get any simpler in the 7f conditions race (1.45) because, with just four runners, the winner will be needed. Silk Romance won easily at Newmarket last time and must go in, along with Fast Attack.

The 7f nursery (2.20) looks a quality event and likely favourite Nuance rates banker material.

Marcus Tregoning has a good record in the Haynes, Hanson & Clark Conditions Stakes (2.55) and his Rawyaan goes in the perm. So does easy Sandown winner King Of Conquest.

The 7f Listed event (3.30) appears tricky. William Buick rides the pick of the Charlie Appleby pair, Al Suhail, and he merits inclusion. It might also be worth putting in Tomfre at a bigger price.

On To Victory and Makram are the two to take against the field in the 1m4f handicap (4.05).
