Jolly Roger, who looks suitably bred for this York assignment, is second choice narrowly ahead of Red Sand who ties in closely with that rival. Battle Stride (second choice) posted an improved effort in the added tongue-tie at Wolverhampton on his handicap debut and holds claims if he's able to translate that form to turf, while Respiro Solitario returned with a solid effort at Wetherby on his reappearance and should run well again. He finished behind the unexposed and well-related Penn Avenue, though, who shaped as if she would benefit from this step up in trip and she's selected to gain her first win.
