Top selections across the cards in Britain and Ireland

York
4.18: Gallant
There's a particularly solid case to be made for Gallant who has strong 6f form, looks ready for a crack at this new trip and should benefit from the return to a flatter track. Jolly Roger, who looks suitably bred for this York assignment, is second choice narrowly ahead of Red Sand who ties in closely with that rival. Rare Change warrants respect in his bid for a quickfire double, while a few others also have possibilities. Steve Boow
Yarmouth
4.05: Another Abbot
Judged on the strength of his C&D novice effort in October, Another Abbot looks favourably handicapped and is particularly interesting. The Class 5 angle puts Invincible Crown second on the shortlist, ahead of last-time scorer Nightbird. Several others may improve for the drop/return to 5f. Steve Boow
Newton Abbot
2.50: Square Du Roule
This is competitive for a Class 5. It's not ideal that Square Du Roule is out of the weights but he did well to finish so close at Warwick a month ago and that was his first run after wind surgery. He has some upside about him. Ventara has to be of interest back over hurdles as he goes well fresh, while Get The Value and a good few others also enter the equation. Alistair Jones
Bath
8.12: Penn Avenue
Battle Stride (second choice) posted an improved effort in the added tongue-tie at Wolverhampton on his handicap debut and holds claims if he's able to translate that form to turf, while Respiro Solitario returned with a solid effort at Wetherby on his reappearance and should run well again. He finished behind the unexposed and well-related Penn Avenue, though, who shaped as if she would benefit from this step up in trip and she's selected to gain her first win. Mighty Real and Buck Barrow need a check on their stable debuts, along with handicap debutant Pomme Pomme. Harry March
Tipperary
8.20: Sunny South West
A repeat of his fine effort in the Grade 1 Punchestown Champion Bumper will make Sunny South West difficult to beat. Moon Eclipse was disappointing in Listed company last time but is better than that. Georgie's Pearl isn't a winner but has a squeak getting allowances. Tyrone Molloy
Perth
8.30: Donso Star
The very lightly raced 5yo Bleu Lagune was a promising fourth on last month's handicap debut at Kelso and is open to further improvement, but preference is for fellow mare Donso Star who showed some good form last spring (including at Perth) and is taken to build on last month's reappearance fourth here. Millyupdahilly and Rickety Gate could also be involved. Ben Hutton
