Nap of the day: the best horse racing tips from the day's seven meetings on Thursday, July 24

Doncaster

5.30: Promise Time

Top of the list is the progressive hat-trick seeker Promise Time, who has justified favouritism in good style on fast and slow ground in his last two runs, including over course and distance last month. The main threat could come from Dark Rosa, who was a strong-finishing third here two weeks ago, although the handicap newcomers Zubaru and Licence To Conquer need a close look in the market. Another who could be dangerous is Haazeez, who was placed behind a subsequent winner at Thirsk last time.

Leopardstown

8.27: Make Good

Former Grade 2 hurdle winner Make Good produced a lively front-running performance to win easily at Tramore and may defy an 8lb rise. Makaiah is a reliable sort who has good prospects of upholding Limerick form with Quiz Note and The Truant and was not far behind Curious Bride at Tramore.

Newbury

8.33: Monkmoor Pip

The return to turf should help Artavian (second choice) in first-time headgear, while tonight's conditions look more suitable for Meleri than at Newmarket. However, this can go to Monkmoor Pip, who's run only twice on turf and twice over middle distances and could yet be capable of better.

Sandown

2.10: Silver Wraith

Back at the scene of her promising debut, the unexposed Silver Wraith looks particularly interesting and could well open her account. Last year's runner-up Jenever is second pick, ahead of Good Earth who also has solid claims returned to Sandown. Cloud King is another to consider.

Wexford

6.47: Stellar Symphony

Although back up to a career-high mark Stellar Symphony holds strong claims on her Cork second to a well-handicapped sort, with the likely drying ground in her favour. Technology looked to be returning to form, as is his yard, last time and rates a danger, as does Phildante, who shaped as though this step up in trip will suit at Sligo recently. Royal Cave is another to consider.

Worcester

1.10: Dexter

Fat Sam will be a tough nut to crack if he replicates the form he showed when second over course and distance this month but Dexter lost out only narrowly at Uttoxeter 16 days ago and is selected to come good for his much respected new stable at the second attempt. Just A Memory and Byzantine Empire are two more-speculative options to consider.

Yarmouth

7.40: Jer Batt

There's a lot to like about Jer Batt who had some very strong handicap form last season, including on soft ground. This campaign started with an encouraging run and there have been valid excuses the last twice. End Of Story is another who could stage a revival and he's an interesting second choice ahead of Marching Mac, who ran poorly last time but his Epsom effort in June was highly commendable.
