Nap of the day: the best horse racing tips from the day's seven meetings on Thursday, August 21

York
3.00: Remmooz
Further improvement from last month's course-and-distance scorer Remmooz, the only three-year-old, can account for some highly respected rivals in this larger and stronger field. His only defeat in four races came in the Group 3 Jersey at Royal Ascot. Bullet Point will surely ask big questions of them all, judged on his two seconds at Ascot, including in the Royal Hunt Cup, but Old Cock, with more improvement in him, may pose the chief threat. Leadman delivering the same strong challenge he's found over 7f could also spell danger and he completes the shortlist, ahead of Blue For You and Urban Lion.
Richard Austen
Chelmsford
8.30: Poetic Jack
Invincible Navy arguably ran better than his finishing position suggests when fifth over a mile on his recent debut for James Owen and he looks interesting back at 6f but Poetic Jack is a cut above this grade and gets the vote. Pinjarra disappointed last time but also features prominently in calculations.
Chris Wilson
Killarney
7.37: Wonleg
An authoritative winner at Wexford last time, beating Be Fierce and Prince Of Air, Wonleg is lightly raced and can defy a 7lb penalty to win again. Aeros Luck fell whan last at this track but could be a danger back on better ground.
Tyrone Molloy
Leopardstown
6.25: Galveston
If forgiven a dire Gordon Stakes run (flag start), Galveston stands out on his King Edward VII Stakes third, providing he stays this longer trip. He is not a confident selection and dangers could emerge from some of the less exposed types such as Defiantly, Vorfreude and Floresta. Eastwatch would be a serious contender on easier ground.
Alan Hewison
Lingfield
3.10: Twirler
Top of the list is the resurgent Twirler who has scored at Windsor and Epsom in her last two starts and looked value for more than the winning margin last time. She remains feasibly treated and is a major player in her hat-trick bid. Recent Brighton winner Starsong is feared most, although Edergole's Gift has done well since a tongue-tie has been applied and she's respected back on the all-weather. Others who could be dangerous are So Sassy and Skellig Isle.
David Moon
Newcastle
8.45: Arctic Thunder
Tuco Salamanca won well in week one of the Racing League and he showed this course-and-distance was no issue when a luckless fourth on Good Friday. He's high on the list, along with the unexposed Storm Free and interesting outsider Glenfinnan, but this could be the day things fall into place for Arctic Thunder. He has yet to win a 6f handicap but the evidence of his last two runs strongly suggests he is better than this mark if circumstances allow him to show it. He met all the trouble going here on his penultimate start and then ran a blinder from a tough draw at York last month. He should get a pace to aim at and can prove himself a well-treated sprinter.
Paul Smith
Newton Abbot
3.55: Breaking Cover
Sergeant Fury has already enjoyed a productive season but he only beat one rival when making all over course and distance last month. Preference is for Breaking Cover, who returned from a layoff with two wins in July and recently had the form of narrow Uttoxeter success boosted by the runner-up. Handicap debutante Hope Rising is 2-5 over hurdles and can also feature.
