Nap of the day: the best horse racing tips from the day's seven meetings on Thursday, August 14

Beverley

3.47: Without Flaw

Although she only beat South Shore narrowly last time, the in-form WITHOUT FLAW (nap) recorded a useful Topspeed figure and could prove up to landing a C&D hat-trick. Herakles may prove best of the rest, although his old adversary Jojo Rabbit and the consistent Sergeant Mayer are also respected.

Chelmsford

8.45: Backer Bilk

Most of these have something to prove but James Owen's new recruit BACKER BILK (nap) has form figures of 21232 in handicaps and he flew home to snatch second at Lingfield when last seen in April. He's only 1lb higher on his return and is a big player on this step back up in trip. The main danger is the unexposed Night Tara, who could show a lot more upped to 1m2f on her handicap debut.

Chepstow

5.15: Summertime Blues

Pure Artistry was too good for SUMMERTIME BLUES (nap) at Windsor last month but the latter is 4lb better off here and has posted another good effort since. Archie Watson's gelding can prevail this time. Unexposed filly Tortoiseshell will be feared if strong in the betting before her stable debut, while Rovinia ran well for her new stable last month and may also still have potential.

Salisbury

4.35: Orionis

Three-year-olds have won eight of the last nine renewals and William Haggas has taken two of the last six, with progressive fillies. ORIONIS (nap) fits the bill, with her close fourth at Ascot representing further improvement. Chilli Queen commands respect as the winner of that race and she is second choice. Ghaiyya is bang in form and Thankyou Baroness unexposed, while Favorite Memory can be given another chance. Aiming High is consistent.

Windsor

7.30: Ammes

Night Breeze and Lieber Power dominated this race last year, separated by a neck, and although their fortunes have gone in different directions this season, there's been a big swing in the weights and they look set to be serious players once again. Night Breeze, arriving after another career best last Saturday, may again hold the edge in that argument, but both could prove vulnerable to the progressive three-year-old AMMES (nap). James Owen's runner was an eye-catching second at the big Goodwood meeting last time and his sixth of 19 at Royal Ascot three starts back was enough to suggest that a return to fast ground won't be a problem.
