Nap of the day: the best horse racing tips from the day's seven meetings on Saturday, August 2

Doncaster
4.10: Mayday Malone
Most of these have something to prove and the most striking contender is Mayday Malone (nap), who has form figures of 2212 this summer and that latest second was a close call from a tough draw at Chester. He remains feasibly treated off only 1lb higher and is open to more progress on this drop back in trip. Charlie Johnston's in-form gelding Anthropologist is the main danger.
David Moon
Galway
5.35: Reidh
Seeking a three-timer, Zaraahmando is sure to be popular but it is Reidh (nap) who appeals the most, given his mark is now 9lb below his C&D winning one last year and he had a pleasing run at Catterick last time. Convincing and Storm Averted both put in good efforts on Tuesday and are not out of it. Brains is another who seems to be heading in the right direction.
Denis Harney
Goodwood
3.05: Completely Random
There was a downpour on Thursday but the ground will have dried out considerably. The trailblazing Get It didn't see another rival when making all up the stands' rail 12 months ago and he's well drawn to execute similar tactics again. He's looked an improved performer with his two Ascot wins this year and should give it another good go. Elmonjed can go well despite his penalty for last week's York win but he would be no banker to confirm those placings with Strike Red, who ran a cracker from a high draw on that occasion. There are interesting runners, as well as good pace, among the low numbers too and Hammer The Hammer, a fast-improving 3yo, has the option to make a beeline for the far rail if desired. This is the one major sprint handicap to have eluded Kevin Ryan but his youngster, who smacks of a Group horse in waiting, looks booked for another huge run. That said, preference is for Completely Random (nap), who has managed only fifth in two attempts off this mark since his smooth Leicester win in April, but for whom there have been mitigating circumstances. He should have a good pace to aim at with Hammer The Hammer and Jordan Electrics drawn nearby and he could be finishing fastest of all. Jakajaro, Run Boy Run, Korker and the smooth-travelling Circe look best of the rest.
Paul Smith
Hamilton
7.00: Team Player
This may go to Team Player (nap) who picked up well once straightening up at Chester to make a successful start for Gemma Tutty. A 4lb rise is easy to stomach. Spirit Of Jura could be the danger if transferring her AW improvement to turf. Jim Goldie's three runners all have chances.
Alistair Jones
Lingfield
5.40: Fascinating Lips
Not many hold persuasive claims but Fascinating Lips (nap) is an exception as he knows how to win and was only just caught in a handicap at Windsor a week ago. Sir Laurence Gaff can provide the main danger having gone close in a rare turf run at Yarmouth last time, while Celtic Diligence looks the pick of the three-year-olds.
David Bellingham
Newmarket
4.35: Beylerbeyi
The five-year-old Beylerbeyi (nap) was having his first crack at 1m4f when winning at York last Saturday and is taken to defy a 4lb rise. Lightly raced four-year-old Moon Angel has been in good form since joining Stuart Williams and is second choice ahead of Just An Hour, who has won three times this season. Cases can also be made for Odin Legacy and First Officer.
Ben Hutton
Thirsk
5.15: Insuspence
If there's an unexposed one here it's probably the three-year-old Insuspence (nap) and Ollver Cole's filly is taken to strike at the sixth attempt. Miss Rainbow could hardly be in better form and rates the main danger, with Stormy Pearl third on the list. Atomic Mass should appreciate the return to 6f and also needs considering.
