Top selections across the cards in Britain and Ireland

Bangor

1.45: Got Grey

Stream Of Stars is still on a good mark after last month's Ffos Las second but this can go to Got Grey, who ran well in two competitive handicaps last month and ought to benefit from today's drop back in trip.

Doncaster

7.15: Twilight Romance

Pals Battalion and Rock Opera finished second on their latest starts but both like to come from off the pace and this is not sure to be strongly run. Almarada Prince can step forward from his stable debut but Twilight Romance got the job done in good style at Leicester three weeks ago and can defy a 6lb rise.

Navan

5.00: Light As Air

Having got to run in a handicap last time after only two qualifying runs, Light As Air was an unlucky loser in that Leopardstown contest but can make amends today. In the same colours, the last-time C&D maiden winner Dakota Blue looks to be his main danger.

Newbury

4.20: My Cloud

There should be plenty of further progress to come from the well-bred My Cloud, who is taken to defy a big rise in the weights for his emphatic reappearance success. Ancient Rome, who looks interesting returned to handicap level, is second choice ahead of Spring Cup protagonists Classic and Ebt's Guard.

Newmarket

2.15: Classic Encounter

The lightly raced four-year-old Classic Encounter has been in fine form this spring, including over course and distance, and he is selected ahead of Where's Freddy, who is also effective here. Good Morning Alex dead-heated at Ripon three weeks ago and is just 2lb higher today.

Thirsk

2.10: Frank The Spark

There is no shortage of interest and none of the field can be ruled out with confidence. Brazen Bolt went AWOL for his former yard last summer but he begins life with Ruth Carr off a lowly mark and goes well at this track so any market confidence would look significant. Squealer is another lurking on a menacing mark and he could bounce back from his disappointing trip to Bahrain, while Kodiac Thriller (second choice) made a pleasing start for new connections and could be better suited by this first crack at 5f. Paul Midgley has a fine recent record in this race, though, and Frank The Spark may well be the answer after his strong-finishing second at Beverley 12 days ago.

Uttoxeter

6.30: Earth Cry

The Neil Mulholland-trained Earth Cry enjoys this good ground and there's reason to believe he can improve on his solid first effort over fences. Kelso winner Heroique De Maulde is handicapped to run well again and others to bear in mind are Champagnesuperover and De Tellers Fortune.

Wexford

5.45: Hello Jean

Outstayed when a clear second at Fairyhouse, Hello Jean could now take some beating back in trip, providing she handles these quicker conditions. Previously she had Early Bird behind her at Leopardstown and can confrm that form. Both Sophia Rose and Apples Jane have a bit to prove now but have to be respected.
