Nap of the day: best horse racing tips from the day's four meetings

Selections from Aintree, Galway, Wexford and Wincanton

Sunday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Aintree

4.10: Pounding Poet

Having had to wait for a clear run, Pounding Poet (nap) cruised to a narrow win at Warwick in May last time out and this unexposed 5yo can defy an 8lb rise to land the hat-trick today. Riggs is another lightly raced contender who is open to improvement and he's second choice, ahead of the handicap newcomers Only The Bold and Mackelduff.
Ben Hutton

Galway

2.17: Tesseract

The Dabbler should go close in his hat-trick bid, while Theatre World has every chance if able to run to the same level as his very unluckly effort at Listowel, but the return to form of TESSERACT (nap) at Tipperary last time was very encouraging and he can take some beating.
Justin O'Hanlon

Wexford

3.10: Birdie Blitz

This can go to Birdie Blitz (nap) who was having her first run after a lengthy spell on the sidelines when a pleasing fourth at Galway. The former Dan Skelton-trained Ever So Cool has been inconsistent but could feature on her debut for Gordon Elliott. Long-priced Navan winner Better Than Heaven may continue on the upgrade.
Alan Sweetman

Wincanton

4.30: Iron Mike

A competitive finale. Manor Park has no Glory And Fortune to worry about this time but there could still be some improvers lurking, with Iron Mike (nap) and Famoso interesting newcomers to the handicap scene. The selection showed flashes of useful form last season, could be better for wind surgery and Thomas Doggrell is excellent value for his 7lb claim.
