Cheltenham

3.30: Galvin

A terrific contest, thoroughly worthy of the Blue Riband of chasing. Several have already proved themselves at the top level and there are two intriguing young pretenders to spice things up. Last year's winner Minella Indo had something in hand when beating A Plus Tard and he was back in better form at Leopardstown last time after the unnerving appearance of cheekpieces for the King George, which didn't go to plan at all. He is preferred of the first three in last year's race, as the third Al Boum Photo, who had won the previous two runnings, spoilt his chance with some small mistakes. Galvin never shoots the lights out on the track but he is an improving stayer who has a good record at the festival and whose never-say-die attitude earned him a deserved win over A Plus Tard at Leopardstown. The boisterous Protektorat and King George winner Tornado Flyer will do very well to outstay him, and Minella Indo may be the one to follow the selection home.
Emily Weber

Doncaster

2.00: Douglas Talking

In an interesting contest the progressive Douglas Talking is taken to complete his hat-trick, but Ahead Of The Field, Broadway Joe, Lakota Warrior and Cilluirid are all worth considering.
Colin Russell

Fakenham

3.05: Hiway One O Three

Hard to look beyond the obvious claims of last week's emphatic Carlisle winner Hiway One O Three who escapes a penalty and is due to run off 12lb higher in future. Assuming that he arrives in the same form he should prove stronger than the hat-trick seeking Fakenham regular Thirtyfourstitches.

Newcastle

7.45: Aquamas

Now reunited with Paul Mulrennan, Thaayer could run a big race if getting his own way in front, but Aquamas can gain a belated first success. She looks unlucky not to have won before now and the form of her latest Southwell third has worked out well in the meantime. Dual course-and-distance winner Mudawwan has become well treated and is worth keeping an eye on.
David Bellingham

Wolverhampton

6.30: Rules Of Order

Jaas Yard appears to have more ability than most that run in this grade, but his dark side reappeared when unshipping his rider leaving the stalls two weeks ago. If he negotiates the start then he'll have a big part to play, along with Arlecchino's Gift, Man On A Mission and interesting handicap debutant Kalka River. There was significantly more promise from Rules Of Order when second at Lingfield two weeks ago, however, and he can go one better today.
