Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Wednesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Ascot

5.10: Full Authority

It would be quite something if the 13-year-old Pettochside (second choice) could follow up his win in this race 12 months ago and last week's Epsom third showed that a fire was still burning in this magnificent veteran. Mulzim is still very well treated on last season's peak turf form but the best pace looks middle to high and stall 2 might not be optimal. Devil's Angel ran well from a poor draw at Beverley two weeks ago but this may well be best left to FULL AUTHORITY. He has been revived by the move to Jane Chapple-Hyam after a bleak 2021 and his latest effort at Newmarket can be upgraded. This is a drop in class and he can take full advantage.
Paul Smith

Brighton

5.35: Roxzoff

Top of the list is dual AW winner ROXZOFF, who found more progress when going very close back on turf at Beverley last week and is well treated off the same mark here. Naughty Nadine was only just caught by an improver at Catterick last Wednesday and is a big danger if she can repeat that form. Recent Kempton winner Fat Gladiator is also respected, while the handicap newcomer Bascinet needs checking in the market for a yard that won this last year.
David Moon

Musselburgh

8.25: Graces Quest

It would be no surprise were Lightning Attack (second choice) to carry his recent good cheer over hurdles back into this discipline, or Wadacre Gogo to step up a chunk on previous turf efforts in Ireland. However, GRACES QUEST and Buford appeal as two likely to appreciate any further drying of the ground, with the former's more assured stamina at the trip (over course and distance no less) gaining her the nod.

Pontefract

3.50: Yanifer

Half of the field come here with plenty to prove and with Tangled returning from an absence and Eilean Dubh untested on anything faster than good, YANIFER may well be the answer. He got tired late on when fifth on his recent stable debut but he should be sharper now and he could also enjoy a tactical advantage in this line-up.
Paul Smith

Punchestown

5.20: The Nice Guy

It's hard to oppose THE NICE GUY who brings in the strongest form in the shape of his Albert Bartlett success at the festival last month and with similar ground likely here, he can maintain his unbeaten record. Minella Cocooner is the biggest threat if the field give him another uncontested lead. Minella Crooner skipped the festival last month but is a big player if he resumes progress.
Phill Anderson

Wolverhampton

1.05:Clifftop Heaven

Despite being at the veteran stage, Uncle Bernie has to be respected back at a venue where he is a multiple winner, while Frame Rate seems to handle these conditions well so is another to consider. However, the vote goes to CLIFFTOP HEAVEN who has dropped to 8lb lower than when winning an amateurs' event over course-and-distance 11 months ago.
