Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings
Tips for Newbury, Warwick, Naas, Uttoxeter, Lingfield and Wolverhampton
Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Lingfield
1.45: Melakaz
Less than a length separated Melakaz(nap) and Koeman when first and second over 1m5f here last time and the latter is 2lb better off, but Robert Stephens' 4yo is taken to emerge on top again as he seems to be progressing and remains relatively unexposed. Marion's Boy has been in fine form around here lately and the return to this trip shouldn't be an issue, while Desert Emperor has been running consistently well on Tapeta but has to prove he can do it back on Polytrack.
David Bellingham
Naas
2.15: Harald Hardrad
A drop to 2m is unlikely to be a big problem for bumper winner Harald Hardrad (nap) whose second in a 2m4f maiden at Fairyhouse represents solid form. He may be given most to do by Brooklyn Glory, a dual bumper winner who was in with a chance when falling at the last on her hurdling debut. Perceval Legallois and Meet And Greet are place possibilities, along with the long-absent Onlyhuman.
Alan Sweetman
Newbury
3.35: Soaring Glory
This has not been a great race for topweights but Soaring Glory(nap) may well prove an exception, considering that he has an impressive record in double-figure fields and comfortably landed this prize 12 months ago. He's 2-2 in handicaps when getting his ideal scenario and could easily have more to offer. Second choice is the highly unexposed Jpr One, ahead of I Like To Move It who has good credentials. Broomfield Burg is another major contender provided he settles okay back in stronger company, while his stablemate First Street also can't be dismissed. Knappers Hill, Boothill and Jetoile are other interesting runners in a typically hot Betfair Hurdle.
Steve Boow
Uttoxeter
4.53: Mickyh
Most of these have plenty to prove and the one that stands out is the lightly raced 6yo Mickyh(nap), who was a good second in his bid for a double at Chepstow last month and is open to more progress. Flintara has got back on track with creditable efforts in her last two starts and she's feared most, ahead of Sir Jack West, who showed signs of a revival with his fourth in a big field at Wetherby 16 days ago.
David Moon
Warwick
3.50: In Rem
With their four rivals suffering dips in form last time out, In Rem(nap) and Colonel Manderson look the two on which to focus. The selection's latest win over C&D is worth upgrading, whereas the Skelton contender didn't have a lot to beat in the end at Southwell. Happy Hollow could be best of the rest, despite his highish mark.
Alistair Jones
Wolverhampton
6.45: Alrehb
Eilean Dubh made a solid start for the Karl Burke yard when a close second over C&D last month and will go well if in similar form but preference is for Alrehb(nap), who has the potential to be a class act at this 0-85 level. His novice form looks strong and there were excuses for him in a warm race on his 1m handicap debut so he's well worth another chance, with the drop back to 7f likely to suit this strong traveller.
