Ascot
2.10: Boothill
For all that classy customer Soaring Glory is greatly respected, he'll probably need to be bordering on the peak of his powers to defy the 10lb rise for his Betfair win and it's not as though alternatives are thin on the ground. Boothill (nap) seems booked for fences sooner or later but this initial hurdle mark might be too good a thing to give up beforehand. The more rain the better it will be for Miss Heritage and she could be a lively one for a stable that's made a good start to the season. Megan is another to bear in mind.
Alistair Jones
Down Royal
2.15: Light Brigade
A really open handicap and most of them have a chance of some sort. Unexposed sorts such as Gua Du Large, Feelgood Island and Glorious Zoff are among those that come into it. Eskylane will go close if he can come on for his very good run at Listowel. The one to beat though could be Light Brigade (nap), who improved throughout last winter and had a nice pipe-opener at Listowel last month.
Justin O'Hanlon
Musselburgh
2.03: Copper Coin
If the rain stays away both Aurora Thunder and Morraman would have a chance, but it's hard to get away from Copper Coin (nap), who seems to have thrived since stepping up to this trip and was impressive at Uttoxeter last time. Pammi shouldn't mind what the weather does and is running well enough to make an impact.
David Bellingham
Newmarket
2.23: State Occasion
It was frustrating that trouble in running denied Noble Dynasty the chance to show last time what he is capable of and it would not be a shock were he to prove significantly better than his current mark. Preference, however, is for State Occasion (nap), who returned to action rather late this season but has been threatening a win. There's a nagging feeling that Greatgadian might still have improvement in him, so he is third on the list.
Richard Austen
Wetherby
4.50: Soyouthinksoagain
Last year's runner-up Grange Ranger may again make the frame but he faces an unexposed opponent in topweight Soyouthinksoagain (nap), and Dan Skelton's six-year-old looks the one to beat. Quick Draw and Ecossais can also feature.
Richard O'Brien
Wolverhampton
7.00: Just Amber
Preference is for Clive Cox's lightly raced three-year-old Just Amber (nap), who got off the mark with a comfortable win in a 1m handicap at Bath 12 days ago and is open to further progress on her return to Tapeta. The other last-time-out winner Busby is feared most, though Light Up Our Stars turned things around with a close call here last time and is respected. Another to consider is Aviary, who returned to form with a clear second behind the selection last Monday.
