Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Wednesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Brighton

3.40: Granary Queen

Tony Carroll ran four in this in 2019, when De Vegas Kid had Poetic Force back in third, and the former, who can never be discounted round here when there's likely to be a decent pace on, looks the pick of his quartet. Last year's winner Zulu Girl, whose record over course-and-distance reads 2111, should do better but this could be set up for the strong-travelling Granary Queen, who's progressed lately for the cheekpieces going back on.
Graham Wheldon

Kempton

8.50: Murau

Several of these arrive in good form but none makes as much appeal as Murau, who confirmed the strong suspicion that two miles would suit when winning well over course-and-distance last time. He looks progressive and can win again at the main expense of Dance To Paris, who remains fairly treated after returning to winning ways at Lingfield on her latest start. Vino Victrix is respected, while Amalfi Bay has it in him to go well at a decent price.
Keith McHugh

Newcastle

4.30: Miss Britain

Dandys Gold comes here in good order and should go well, while recent course-and-distance second Lady Celia and the lightly-raced three-year-olds Trois Vallees and Roshambo will have their supporters. Miss Britain still looks on a handy mark on the pick of her six-furlong form though and she may well prove the answer on her all-weather debut.

Pontefract

4.50: Vaunted

Having won so well over course-and-distance on her penultimate start and looked capable of better at Newmarket last time, Vaunted looks the one to turn to. The nine-year-old Van Gerwen, with his three wins at Pontefract, is feared most. Lost My Sock and Melody King were bang there in a bunched finish at Beverley last week.
Richard Austen

Sligo

6.30: Heather Bear

The form of Bay Of Bengal's Curragh win has worked out a treat and she's sure to be hard to beat but Heather Bear is uncomplicated and progressive and can defy a 6lb hike for her Ballinrobe victory.
Mark Nunan

Yarmouth

7.40: Sparked

Arzaak, Pretty Shiftwell and Enchanted Night followed Sparked home here last week and the outcome may well be the same as the last-named came home the best and may well have the best of it with the draw. Arzaak was slightly hampered before taking second and he looks the main danger.
