Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Best bets from Cheltenham, Punchestown, Chepstow, Goodwood and more

Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Cheltenham

5.00: Envoye Special

Envoye Special (nap) comes here in good form and he might be better equipped than most to cope with a trip that's alien to the majority of these. Fumet D'oudairies is another with better days ahead of him and he is feared most along with Risk And Roll.
Alistair Jones

Punchestown

6.35: Caid Du Berlais

A competitive contest as one might expect, with the standard set by Billaway, but he could be vulnerable after hard races at Cheltenham and Aintree. Staker Wallace and 2020 Cheltenham winner It Came To Pass are unlikely to be far away while Bob And Co is an interesting British challenger. Preference is for two-time winner of this race Caid Du Berlais (nap) who comes here relatively fresh after dominant wins in a pair of soft contests last month.
Justin O'Hanlon

Chepstow

2.55: Coul Kat

Having chased home a progressive filly on his recent reappearance Power Station has to go on the shortlist while Mercurius Power would have a chance if transferring his AW on to turf. Coul Kat (nap) looks the one to side with, however, following last week's encouraging return when second at Epsom. He is already due to go up 4lb for that.
David Bellingham

Goodwood

1.00: Concierge

Course-and-distance winner Atalanta's Boy is respected but things have gone badly wrong at the start in two of his last four starts so he is by no means risk-free. Bimble should have more to offer this year but Concierge (nap) appreciated being back on turf when running well at Newmarket recently and the race didn't go entirely his way when beaten only about 3l in the Stewards' Cup here last summer. Bimble looks the main danger.
Emily Weber

Musselburgh

2.30: Swaffham Bulbeck

Well Planted comes here at the very top of his game but preference is for Swaffham Bulbeck (nap), who turned in a career-best effort over hurdles last time and this useful jumper can take advantage of his lowly Flat mark.
Richard Young

Newcastle

7.25: Young Fire

There should be more to come this year from both Raatea and Taawfan, while Kaeso is dangerous if back to his best and Molls Memory made a solid reappearance at Musselburgh. Things haven't been setting up favourably for Young Fire (nap) in recent starts but his latest run was better and this track should see him in a better light.
Paul Smith
