Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Doncaster

5.05: War Horse

There are some possible improvers in the line-up but War Horse was a good second over C&D on last month's handicap debut and the form of that race was boosted when the winner Grand Alliance went close in this week's Blue Riband Trial at Epsom. Dark Mystery is bred to appreciate this longer trip on his handicap debut and he could be the chief threat, while Adjuvant and Madame Ambassador could also improve for the step up in distance.
Ben Hutton

Sandown

1.50: Ring Of Beara

It has paid to back the topweight in the last two runnings of this notable handicap and Ring Of Beara may well maintain that trend. He is open to further improvement back down in class. Al Marmar (second choice) and Wanees are similar types who may prove the biggest threats to the selection, though a few others are also very difficult to dismiss, notably Blue Trail whose trainer is in sparkling form.
Steve Boow

Perth

3.45: Minella Trump

Although he's been absent since December, MinellaTrump makes most appeal given his progressive profile last year, and he's unbeaten at this track. There may be more wins to come for course specialist Amalfi Doug but perhaps Smoking Gun will be the biggest threat.
Jonathan Neesom

Kilbeggan

7.00: Sweet Will

Magic Sea arrives here in good form after his Downpatrick third and runs off a 7lb lower chase mark, but Sweet Will looks the one to beat. He was a game winner at Cork on his last start and looks well treated on his chase debut. Quarry Girl and perhaps Quantum Realm can fill the minors.
Brian Dowling

Southwell

4.35: Clear The Runway

Without a late mistake Clear The Runway might well have repelled his in-form market rival at Market Rasen last week and this looks easier. All four of his rivals come here in good form, with Getaway Luv feared most.
Alistair Jones

Chepstow

5.50: Sabrina

Good cases can be made for a few of these but top of the list is low-mileage mare Sabrina, who was placed in a competitive Grade 2 mares' handicap at Newbury three weeks ago and still has potential. I'm A Starman was also placed in a good Newbury race when last in action and is feared most but Itacare, Flying Nun and Megaudais Speed all make significant appeal too.
