Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Selections from Chepstow, Newmarket, Downpatrick, York, Dundalk and Newcastle

Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Chepstow

3.20: Hell Red

Paul Nicholls' C&D winner Hell Red (nap) was behind Elham Valley when ninth at Cheltenham in March but he still ran very well there and is taken to enhance his trainer's very good record in this race. Herbiers and Caldwell both won competitive handicaps in the spring but the biggest threat to the selection might come from Cabot Cliffs, who was headed only on the approach to the final flight after attempting to make all at the Cheltenham Festival.
Chris Wilson

Downpatrick

2.52: Fallen Forest

It could pay to rely on recent Flat form as the best guide here since Fallen Forest (nap) has prospered since his last outing over jumps. Willyouwalkwithme won in good style here three weeks ago and may confirm form with runner-up Fassbender. Rippon Lodge is favourably treated relative to his mark over fences but has been inconsistent.
Alan Sweetman

Dundalk

7.45: Duquesa Beach

This looks like a good opportunity for the consistent Duquesa Beach (nap) to get another win on the board. She was only narrowly denied again last week and this is less competitive than some of her recent assignments. Fryerns is a C&D winner back below her last winning mark and Dusty Winds can't be ruled out if he gets a run. Any support for Bell Manannan could be significant ahead of his return.

Newcastle

8.30: Spanish Angel

Another Angel, Nibras Again and Street Life are all likely to go well under these conditions and enter calculations. Somewhere Secret is likely to click for Rebecca Menzies at some point, while Never Say Never is unexposed and Glorious Rio could be happier back on AW. One for whom the move back to Tapeta is definitely a plus is Spanish Angel (nap), with a repeat of any of his three AW runs this year likely to be good enough in this company.
Paul Smith

Newmarket

4.10: Moshaawer

With York's ultra-competitive Melrose Handicap already working out well, the runner-up Moshaawer (nap) is taken to go one better, with today's shorter trip unlikely to prove an inconvenience. The dangers are headed by the unexposed Candleford and also include topweight Siskany, who has been gelded. The progressive pair Injazati and Southern Voyage are both seeking a four-timer, while Farhan may prove suited by the step back up in trip and makes each-way appeal.
Richard O'Brien

York

3.15: Hartswood

Fame And Acclaim was a fine third of 17 over C&D in July and is a tempting option having been unlucky at Ayr last time, but preference is for Hartswood (nap), who has run really well on all five previous visits to York. Challet is 2-2 here and could playing a leading role provided the forecast slow ground is no issue, while King's Knight went close on the AW last time and that form is working out nicely.
