Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Wednesday selections for Chester, Newton Abbot, Kelso, Fontwell and more

Chester

2.45: Showalong

The steadily progressive Showalong gets the vote and he'll be all the more interesting if the ground remains on the soft side. Harmony Lil is feared most, ahead of her stablemate Cuban Breeze. Army Of India has a bit to prove back at 5f and Imperial Force hasn't progressed from his Royal Ascot effort but they both have the ability to figure.
Steve Boow

Fontwell

5.50: Schnabel

Having scored with a bit in hand here last time, Schnabel is selected to make light of a 5lb rise and stretch his unbeaten C&D record to three. There were slightly better signs from Dark Flame at Newbury last time so he's perhaps the main threat.
Andrew Sheret

Gowran Park

6.00 Amma Grace

If the rain gets into the ground French Fusion will be right at home on it, and with improvement likely from her recent second in the Salsabil Stakes, she could be the main danger to Amma Grace. Dermot Weld's charge is also well suited by a good cut in the ground and she looks tough enough (Group 2 second), to be considered the most likely winner of this. Her rating of 108, gives her a small bit of wriggle room, which may well be needed on her first start for 193 days. Insinuendo is also interesting.
Seamus Howard

Kelso

1.55: Do No Disturb

Most of the field performed at least respectably on their most recent start. Gipsy Lee Rose is an exception but could return to form back at Kelso. However, the suggestion is Do Not Disturb, who hasn't had many attempts beyond 2m4f and ran well at Perth last time in a race that is likely to prove solid form.
Richard O'Brien

Kempton

6.10: Ariel

Sense Of Romance hasn't been seen to best effect since handicapping but it would come as no surprise if a gelding operation focuses Ariel, given he still looked green when again showing improved form in novice company last time.
Andrew Cooper

Newton Abbot

3.35: Chez Hans

If Heross Du Seuil shows his Kempton form he will be tough to beat on his handicap debut, while Amarillo Sky will be dangerous if he is able to dictate as he did at Exeter. Chez Hans blotted his copybook last time but is taken to resume his progress.
