Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings
Selections from Ascot, Chester, Hamilton, Limerick, Navan, Newmarket and York

Ascot
4.45: Surrey Gold
Dhushan looked tailormade for a valuable 1m6f handicap at Haydock one week ago but was denied a run and does not make quite as much appeal over this trip. He could still be a big player but preference is for the exciting Surrey Gold (nap), who was a late non-runner himself when making considerable appeal for a C&D race at the Royal meeting. The ground should be softer today, which gives him less to prove three weeks on. Mystical Dawn, with his proficiency on testing ground, is third on the list, ahead of Irish Legend.
Richard Austen
Chester
5.40: Cuban Dancer
Having struggled on fast ground last time, it would be no surprise to see Golden Melody produce a better show on going which should be more suitable. However, she may have to play second fiddle to Cuban Dancer (nap), whose confidence should be high on this return to handicap company after a convincing success in a maiden a week ago. Twilight Song may prove best of the rest.
Keith McHugh
Hamilton
6.50: Coase
The return to 6f looks an interesting move for Toussarok as he isn't short of speed and could take some catching, while Strike Red would have a chance on this less-quick ground having bumped into a couple of improvers the last twice. However, the vote goes to the lightly raced Coase (nap) who drops in grade and comes from a yard with a good recent record in this race.
David Bellingham
Limerick
1.55: Gin On Lime
A good opportunity for Gin On Lime (nap) to make it three from three over fences. Star Max is the only feasible danger but Gin On Lime already hammered him at Wexford. It could be a similar story again.
Brian Sheerin
Navan
1.35: Harannda
Quite open, with marginal preference for Harannda (nap), ahead of Mickey The Steel, Spilt Passion, Swift Flight and Roses Blue.
Alan Hewison
Newmarket
3.50: Perotto
Ametist looks a Pattern performer in waiting and he is a key contender after taking another step up the ladder over C&D last month. It may be that his full potential will be revealed over 1m though and he is taken on with Britannia winner Perotto (nap). Unexposed over 7f+, he was tiring late on at Ascot but the surge that saw him get to the front was striking. He's well in under a penalty and can complete his hat-trick over what may prove to be his optimum trip. Last year's winner Motakhayyel and the progressive Boardman also come into the reckoning.
Paul Smith
York
4.05: Nicholas T
Astro King and Dawaam are ahead of the handicapper after their improved performances at Royal Ascot, and Royal Hunt Cup runner-up Astro King is particularly interesting now back up in trip. However, there are certainly others to consider (especially if the ground is on the slow side) and Nicholas T (nap), who is in the form of his life, is taken to follow up his win in the Northumberland Plate a fortnight ago. That was over 2m but, like many of Jim Goldie's runners, he is versatile trip-wise. Second choice is Dark Pine, who deserves considerable credit for winning at Chester in May given the tight track didn't appear to suit, and heavy ground is a valid excuse for his Royal Ascot defeat. His trainer Dave Loughnane is going from strength to strength. Aaddeey, Ascension, Lucander, Surrey Pride and Fishable are others who could run well.
