Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings
Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Ascot
2.25: Bague D'Or
There is likely more to come from the 3yo Berkshire Breeze now that he is switched to handicaps and upped in trip, but preference is for Bague D'Or (nap) who proved his stamina when winning at Newmarket last time. His profile has a nice progressive look to it and he can confirm Newmarket form with the consistent Caldwell, who should go well again nonetheless. Dancing Harry is second on the list, with his stamina not in doubt.
David Bellingham
Chester
4.53: Roman Dragon
The vote goes to dual C&D winner Roman Dragon (nap), who made a bold bid when a close third over 7f here two weeks ago and looks interesting on this drop back in trip and grade. Wonderful World ran well behind an improver at Windsor last time and he's feared most on his step back up to 6f. Third choice is triple sprint winner Beauzon, who returned from a break with a creditable third at Redcar last month.
David Moon
Hamilton
6.30: Refuge
Sunset Glow (second choice) and Astapor enjoy a pull in the weights with Refuge (nap) from their recent C&D meeting and both can go well again but the selection has kicked on since with an excellent second at Ayr and is taken to come out on top once more. Imperial Khan fluffed his lines on his handicap debut at Musselburgh but shouldn't be written off and is another who can have a say.
Peter Entwistle
Navan
2.47: Studio City
Having run second over C&D to a subsequent Listed scorer, Studio City(nap) can get off the mark on his third start.
Tyrone Molloy
Newmarket
2.40: Laasudood
As an improving colt who has solid form this term, Laasudood (nap) looks one to follow. He's first choice ahead of Jimi Hendrix, who ran well in the Britannia last time. Closely matched rivals Bay Of Honour and Positive Impact are still unexposed, while Lawful Command is also hard to rule out.
Steve Boow
Salisbury
7.45: Gilbert
Promotion didn't run badly when fifth on his latest outing and is a contender if judged on his earlier placed form but Gilbert (nap) produced a good finishing burst to score over 1m at Chepstow last month and today's move back up in trip can enable him to complete a hat-trick. Niamh And Oonagh made an encouraging stable debut on Polytrack and is also of interest.
Chris Wilson
York
2.55: Danni California
Last year's second Ghadbbaan and third Flint Hill are likely to get involved again, while Witham River (second choice) is also of some interest with his Ripon form having been franked, but the vote goes to Danni California (nap), who could have more to offer over this trip judged on the ease of her 1m6f Wetherby win on her penultimate start.
