Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings

Chelmsford, Chepstow, Fairyhouse, Hexham, Limerick, Newmarket and York picks

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Chelmsford

6.00: Starry Eyes

Top of the list is Starry Eyes, who still looks well treated after being reassessed for her smooth Lingfield win. Recent C&D scorer Top Class Angel may provide the sternest resistance, but a market move for the unexposed stable switcher Pink Pearl should be heeded and the reliable Widaad is unlikely to be far away.
Richard O'Brien

Chepstow

1.50: Galice Macalo

It won't be a big surprise if dual Grade 1 winner Allmankind runs this field ragged from the front but he has bigger fish to fry this season and is reportedly being aimed at the Old Roan Chase later this month. Galice Macalo ideally needs to learn to settle better but she was a very good second on last season's handicap debut at Sandown and signed off with a very easy C&D novice win in March. She gets the nod ahead of handicap debutant Restandbethankful, who looked promising in the spring. Flic Ou Voyou should also feature.
Chris Wilson

Fairyhouse

3.05: Glan

Glan looked like winning for a long way at Listowel - hitting 4-5 on the exchanges - but got tired on her first start since April. She hurdled with fluency there and should be sharper for the outing so gets a confident vote to take care of Jeremys Jewel. Trendy Lady is another to consider, especially given she in receipt of 8lb from the aforementioned pair.
David Jennings

Hexham

1.00: Animore

Preference is for Iain Jardine's Animore, who is unexposed over fences and only 1lb higher than for her close call behind an improver over C&D last time. On The Wild Side returns from a lengthy absence but he recorded both his hurdle wins at this track and is an interesting contender back here on his chase debut. Third choice is Spider's Bite, who was only narrowly denied off a reduced mark at Perth on his penultimate run and had an excuse when his saddle slipped there last month.
David Moon

Limerick

1.05: Chestnutter

Probably an ordinary maiden and unless Jessica Harrington's newcomer Princess Azure comes on considerably from her barrier trial run, this should fall to Chestnutter, whose form stacks up well. Eastern Wind should go well.
Alan Hewison

Newmarket

4.45: Bedouin's Story

Barney Roy and Mostahdaf are the top two on ratings but the former has been absent for over a year and the latter may ideally not want drying ground having gained his turf wins on soft. They are taken on with Bedouin's Story, who looked better than ever in the highly competitive Cambridgeshire over C&D two weeks ago. King Vega (second choice) has possibilities back down in trip and Khartoum also can't be dismissed.
Steve Boow

York

2.02: Canonized

A few of these remain open to improvement such as Alotaibi and Gisburn, but this race usually goes to an experienced juvenile with nine of the last ten winners having had at least four previous outings. Ever Given seems sure to make his presence felt having performed so well in the big sales races here and at Doncaster, but preference is for Canonized who was only just edged out on her first attempt at 6f in a Group 3 at Ayr last month.
