Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings
Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Chelmsford
7.30: Flavius Titus
Babe Alicious has found only one too good on her last two starts so seems sure to be on the premises again on her Polytrack debut and veteran Shamshon could easily have a say off a tumbling mark. Flavius Titus did well to overcome a tardy start when getting back to winning ways at Ripon and he can follow up off a 3lb higher mark.
Peter Entwistle
Chepstow
4.02: Didtheyleaveuoutto
Knappers Hill shaped very much as though today's longer trip could suit when winning a valuable 2m novices' handicap in April and is not opposed lightly but the suggestion is Didtheyleaveuoutto, who finished well from a poor position to take second in this race 12 months ago and ought to cope better than several of these if the ground is still on the quick side of good. Masters Legacy can feature if revitalised by his summer break, while topweight Proschema is also considered.
Chris Wilson
Curragh
1.25: Harsh
On the back of a promising Galway debut run Harsh could take plenty of beating here, having shown his ability to act on soft ground at Ballybrit. He can confirm form with Trachonitus, a bigger threat could come from the newcomer North Dorset. Ground concerns would surround Milwaukee, while fellow Ballydoyle challenger Hippodrome has a bit to prove now.
Alan Hewison
Fairyhouse
2.45: Grand Roi
A 145-rated hurdler, Grand Roi should show improvement from his satisfactory chasing debut at Listowel and go one better today. Amirite was an impressive maiden hurdle winner when last seen and has the ability to give the selection a race. Palace Rock had a recent spin on the Flat, which should have helped his fitness level.
Tyrone Molloy
Hexham
4.08: Punxsutawney Phil
Although not a complete natural, it's been a pleasing start over fences for Puncsutawney Phil and his Worcester second looks solid form. Dolly Dancer could well pull her socks up now back here and she's feared most ahead of Croagh Patrick.
Alistair Jones
Newmarket
5.20: Alflaila
Strensall Stakes winner Alflaila is an improving colt who could well defy a 3lb penalty and follow up. His chief threats include the Fleet-themed runners Royal Fleet and Ottoman Fleet, both from the Charlie Appleby yard. Finest Sound should go well again, while Dubai Mirage can't be dismissed in his current form. Regal Reality is a multiple winner at this level but he looks vulnerable off top weight.
Steve Boow
York
4.25: Atacama Desert
Despite an 8lb higher mark this can go to the progressive Atacama Desert who proved himself over course and distance when winning well last month. There is probably still more to come from him. Fellow course-and-distance winner Monsieur Lambrays and It's Good To Laugh have dropped to favourable marks, while Duke Of Verona is another to make the shortlist.
