Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's nine meetings

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Curragh

2.55: Goodnight Girl

A few have claims but Goodnight Girl makes most appeal after a solid run in a more competitive handicap last time. Sarah Lynam's filly goes well at this venue and the yard do particularly well with their sprinters. Sister Rosetta should be involved if she can back up last week's success at Naas but she hasn't been the most consistent.
Phill Anderson

Doncaster

3.48: The Attorney

The solid option is The Attorney who arrives on the back of some fine efforts in more competitive events than this one. Fellow four-year-old Air To Air wasn't seen to best effect when one of the market leaders for the International Handicap at Ascot last month and can give him most to do.
Andrew Sheret

Market Rasen

6.10: Serjeant Painter

Although he has been raised in the weights again, it could well be that Serjeant Painter will prove up to the task. A deceptive sort who can hit a flat spot before idling when getting to the front, he has nevertheless won his last three over fences and is hard to knock. Strong Team made a satisfactory chasing debut and, favourably treated, could give him most to do. Getaway Jewel and Go As You Please are also respected.
Keith McHugh

Newbury

3.00: Fivethousandtoone

With cheekpieces retained, Fivethousandtoone may well build on his latest effort and take advantage of a handy mark. He's particularly well handicapped on his 2020 form, which included a good effort in the Mill Reef at this venue. Dual course winner Gisburn is feared most, ahead of Dance Fever and Silent Film.
Steve Boow

Newmarket

5.36: Ashky

It's hard to rule out any of these but the vote goes to the Charltons' progressive three-year-old Ashky, who completed a course-and-distance double with her front-running win last month and is a big player again in her bid to make it 3-3 in handicaps. Queen Of Burgundy has a record of 5-11 for Mick Appleby and has won her last three starts, but the main threat could come from Keeper's Choice who went very close behind Queen Of Burgundy at Chester four weeks ago and is on the same mark here.
David Moon

Perth

3.05: Pilgrims King

There should be more to come from Copperwell, who moves back up in trip after finishing second over two miles here on his handicap debut in June, while his unexposed stablemate Reddys Island will need to be taken very seriously if attracting market support. However, Pilgrims King looked a fair way ahead of his mark when winning twice at Ffos Las in the spring and gets the nod.
Chris Wilson

Ripon

2.50: Summerghand

There is no doubt this lacks the depth of many previous renewals but there are still a number of sprinters of interest. On his first run for a new yard, Blackrod still has some potential and is sure to be popular but he finished behind Summerghand in the Wokingham when not looking to have any real excuse and he may well do so again. David O'Meara's stalwart ran into plenty of trouble in the Stewards' Cup last time but he looks to retain a big chunk of his ability and can exploit his drop in the weights. Don't rule out a big run from topweight Misty Grey, while last year's winner Justanotherbottle is also more than capable of featuring.
Paul Smith

Tramore

6.30: Lemon Ice

Plenty of these have bits and pieces of chances. Wojood came back to form in a handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe on Monday, but the unexposed Lemon Ice just ran out of steam over 1m5f at Down Royal last time and this trip should be ideal for a progressive filly.
Justin O'Hanlon

Wolverhampton

7.20: Newyorkstateofmind

The switch to Declan Carroll and refitting of a tongue-tie has certainly made a difference to True Mason who bids to make it 3-4 since joining the yard. He has form on the Newcastle Tapeta so should go well again, while Churchill Bay and Rebel Redemption are others to keep an eye on. However, the vote goes to Newyorkstateofmind who returns to the AW from an 8lb lower mark than when narrowly beaten here last October and whose record on artificial surfaces reads 2123212452212.
