Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's four meetings

Monday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Ayr

4.10: Quest For Fun

Lightly raced Quest For Fun is taken to progress further and follow up his Thirsk success. Fellow last-time-out winner Call Me Ginger (second choice) is still on a workable mark, while last year's one-two Black Friday and Music Society also enter calculations. Adnaan, the sole three-year-old in the field, may be capable of improvement.
Steve Boow

Ripon

7.15: Sydney Bay

Poet's Dawn figures prominently in calculations after a good run at Musselburgh last week, while Safran and Deputy have the ability to play a big part if running near their best. The most interesting contender is Sydney Bay, however, with Ann Duffield's unexposed three-year-old having shaped with some considerable promise on his reappearance. This trip should be well within range on pedigree and he looks ahead of his mark.

Roscommon

7.30: Unanswered

The trip and track are both probably on the sharp side for Unanswered but he's very difficult to oppose nonetheless. Wexford runner-up Gondor may be next best.
Mark Nunan

Worcester

1.35: De Barley Basket

An interesting race in which the vote goes to De Barley Basket, who made it 4-6 over fences with his dominant display at Uttoxeter and is open to further progress. The main threat could come from Peter Bowen's resurgent veteran Lord Bryan, who completed a hat-trick when beating a clear second over course-and-distance last time. Shentri was an easy winner over fences on his penultimate run and he looks interesting back in this sphere, while others who could have a big part play are D'Jango and Dolly Dancer.
