Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's four meetings

Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Chelmsford

7.30: Laheg

As he's been running so well on turf lately and is a C&D winner, it seems likely that Twilight Heir will put in another big effort, but preference is for the lightly raced LAHEG (nap). He scraped home here last time but seemed to idle once in front so probably won with a bit more hand than it looked. Swiss Pride has been placed four times from five starts over C&D, so he may offer some each-way value.
David Bellingham

Market Rasen

3.15: Little River Bay

It is hard to overlook Zambella given her record in these races but she does appear slightly vulnerable at this trip. LITTLE RIVER BAY (nap) has shown she can produce the goods when fresh and is taken to land this good prize.

Newcastle

3.55: Rae Des Champs

The very lightly raced 3m point winner RAE DES CHAMPS (nap) is open to further improvement now upped in trip and she earns the vote on her reappearance. Zafar had a solid campaign last season and is second choice on his return to action, while Spantik can be in the mix if transferring his Sedgefield form on his first jumps run here.
Ben Hutton

Taunton

4.10: Molliana

Last year's winner MOLLIANA (nap) rarely runs a bad race and is handicapped to be competitive again. Tibbie Dunbar is fit off the Flat and looked to be improving when last seen over hurdles. Midnight Callisto also comes into it.
Alistair Jones
