Hoganville might progress from last month's winning stable debut and is respected but there is still more to come from The Questioner, who caught the eye making good late headway from a poor position on last month's seasonal debut and was short of room at a crucial stage before running on well for second at Southwell a fortnight ago. If all goes well here, he can add to his two wins in March. Sparkling Dawn is next on the list.

Guess should improve for going over a mile but he is in first-time headgear, which casts some doubt. Preference is for Maysong, who has had a good season and shouldn't be marked down for his last two defeats. Harswell Duke and Strongbowe are others to be reckoned with.

Top of the list is Tim Easterby's Hildenley, who got back on the scoresheet with a win over course-and-distance four weeks ago and a 3lb rise for that comfortable success looks fair. Recent Wolverhampton runner-up Wolf Of Oxshott is feared most on his drop back in trip, although Berry Edge went close at Redcar last time and is a big player if he can transfer his form back to all-weather. Others who could be in the mix are Van Zant and Golden Valour.

The very lightly raced three-year-old Awaal has potential off his opening mark and is taken to make a winning handicap debut for the in-form Crisford team. Lightening Company has a good record on slow ground and is feared most with conditions to suit. Pisanello (second) and Spirit Catcher (third) went close in the same course-and-distance handicap last time out and are also considered.
