Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Ascot

2.40: Cat Tiger

Having enjoyed a good campaign last season, including a win over course-and-distance, Cat Tiger (nap) reappears with trainer Paul Nicholls in fine form and earns the vote. Henry Daly is also firmly among the winners and Head To The Stars is feared most on his return from a break. Bobhopeornohope has been progressive since the cheekpieces went on, while last year's winner Kapga De Lily is also respected.
Ben Hutton

Catterick

12.10: Spike Jones

It is hard to overlook the progressive Sure Touch but he is untried at this trip and up against some doughty stayers. Spike Jones (nap) maintained his improvement with a good Worcester third last month and his proven stamina earns him the vote.
Jonathan Neesom

Chepstow

3.30: Operation Manna

His fitness has to be taken on trust today but unexposed Operation Manna (nap) was one of two to pull a long way clear of the others when winning an Exeter maiden in March, and that piece of form is backed up by a very solid Topspeed figure. He can improve in handicaps this season and gets the nod. Charlie's Glance can pose a threat if the refitted tongue-tie resolves the breathing issue that was reported after his recent run, while Rossbeigh Strand is also of interest.
Chris Wilson

Dundalk

7.30: Teddy Boy

Qaabil has made a good start for his new yard but whether this return to sprinting will help remains to be seen. Preference is for Teddy Boy (nap) who deserves a break after his recent runs and he's fine around here. Kuwait Direction should also feature now returned to 6f.
Alistair Jones

Kempton

4.10: Always Fearless

Top of the list is Richard Hannon's five-year-old Always Fearless (nap), who turned things around with an all-the-way win off a reduced mark over course-and-distance last month and backed that up with a good second behind an improver at Lingfield last week. Second choice is the Johnstons' three-year-old Wadacre Grace, who still has potential and could make a big impact if she can break better than she did here last time. Five-time AW winner Motawaafeq needs a close look on his return to action, while another to consider is Hul Ah Bah Loo.
