Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings
Monday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Brighton
1.30: Georgia Madeleine
The vote goes to Georgia Madeleine, who justified support in good style on her nursery debut here last month and is open to more progress on this step back up in trip. Second choice is Durley Girl, who ran well for a long way at Ffos Las last time and looks interesting on her return to sprinting. Made Of Lir has each-way claims, while there are some nursery newcomers who need watching in the market including Mister X, who is bred to be much better than his opening mark.

Newcastle
7.00: Diamond Bay
Tom Ward's Diamond Bay deserves credit for getting up in the nick of time at Lingfield and he has more to offer as a stayer. Author's Dream has to be of interest back on the AW after running so well in a higher grade at Goodwood, though it's risky ruling out any of the six.
Alistair Jones
Newton Abbot
3.00: Sammylou
Valentino has won both C&D attempts and looks very likely to go close again, with a break since May of no concern. Sammylou has also shown a penchant for this course and can land a seventh win over hurdles.
Jonathan Neesom
Perth
3.20: She's A Rocca
Al Muffrih is consistent but there are a few of these that look open to improvement, among them the Ollie Murphy-trained pair and Lough Carra, who shaped well at Bangor last time. He might be the biggest danger to She's A Rocca, who knows how to win and should be suited by going back to 2m4f.

Galway
6.45: Hallowed Star
An interesting little contest with four of the seven runners holding strong enough claims, two of whom won over hurdles here at the festival, namely Sit Down Lucy and Hallowed Star. Of the pair, the latter, seemingly at home on varying ground conditions, appeals most, and he looked to be going places when bolting in off 128 in said contest, and he should take to this game. The Coral Cup eighth Indigo Breeze and Watch House Cross have the potential to rise to a fair level and could threaten.
