Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Thursday bets from Chelmsford, Clonmel, Ffos Las, Uttoxeter and Wetherby

Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Uttoxeter

1.30: Hurricane Ali

Irish import Some Spin is probably better than he has shown in Britain so far but he has it to prove so the vote goes to Hurricane Ali (nap), who may well be able to defy his penalty for winning tidily at Southwell ten days ago. The dangers are headed by Chapati, Cape Fair and White Turf, with the last-named feared most.
Keith McHugh

Ffos Las

3.00: Landofsmiles

This has greater depth than the race Landofsmiles (nap) won at Chepstow but he had loads in hand and jumped particularly well. He can defy the penalty, perhaps at the expense of Scorpion Haze. McNamaras Band could have some improvement lurking.
Alistair Jones

Wetherby

3.20: Roxboro Road

The Ben Haslam-trained Roxboro Road (nap) made it two chase wins in a row when scoring with something in hand here last Tuesday and is able to run off the same mark back over hurdles today. His best Irish form came in this discipline and he can land the hat-trick. The recent Newcastle winner Kauto D'Amour is feared most.
Ben Hutton

Clonmel

4.30: Humble Glory

This looks a good opportunity for bumper winner Humble Glory (nap) to get off the mark over hurdles after three placed efforts. Richie Deegan's 5lb claim will be an asset on Western Zara who chased home a useful sort at Fairyhouse. Hill Of Truth is well exposed but should not be far away in this grade. More Wine Lilly showed improved form at this venue recently.
Alan Sweetman

Chelmsford

7.20: Aventuriere

A half-sister to five winners for Mark Johnston, two of whom (Francophilia and the useful Galapiat) improved in their fourth year, Aventuriere (nap) had a good bit in hand when making a successful comeback from over a year off last weekend and is the one to beat under a penalty. The progressive French Minstrel, who's clicked since upped in trip and fitted with a visor, is the main danger in a race in which the pair stand out.
Graham Wheldon
