Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Friday fancies from Dundalk, Fontwell, Hexham, Newcastle and Warwick

Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Dundalk

3.45: Diamondsinthesand

Sprint maidens at this time of year are not vintage events and that is especially so in this case. Collective Power has some decent runs on this surface, including on Wednesday, and Realtin Fantasy is one that could come back to form with the drop in class and the sound surface. However, after a taking initial effort at Naas on Sunday, Diamondsinthesand (nap) makes plenty of appeal with the drop back to five possibly suiting. How well he handles the surface is the main question.
Justin O'Hanlon

Fontwell

1.50: Earth Business

If Floki is wound up after his mammoth absence, he will take all the beating but there have to be doubts. Manucci ran well enough on the Flat last month and looks the main threat to Earth Business(nap), who should certainly appreciate the step up in trip on his handicap debut.
Jonathan Neesom

Hexham

2.40: Geonice

While stepping up in trip might give some of his rivals a boost, that remains to be seen and it is Geonice(nap) who makes clearly most appeal on recent evidence. He can follow up last month's C&D win. Atomic Angel should not be far away but the ground may not be soft enough for Espoir Moriviere.
Richard Austen

Newcastle

6.00: Strong Power

Triple Jaye has obvious claims but an interesting alternative is Strong Power(nap), who did well to finish fourth at Wolverhampton last month having been hampered before halfway and come from a difficult position. The selection is well handicapped and has a good chance granted better luck. For Peat's Sake and Tanasoq complete the shortlist.
Steve Boow

Warwick

2.30: Mercutio Rock

First Quest escapes a penalty for his comfortable conditionals' handicap win at Wincanton but takes on an unexposed handicap newcomer in Mercutio Rock (nap), who showed promise late last year and returns with the Jonjo O'Neill yard in good form. Fred Bear flopped last time but is certainly of interest on his earlier form and benefits from a 16lb 3yo allowance today.
Ben Hutton
