Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Wednesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Chepstow

3.10: Ridgeway

With the benefits of guaranteed fitness and an easy Kempton success, Ridgeway looks the strongest option. There are dangers lurking in the chasing newcomers, principally in the shape of Mister Marbles, though Ballyblack and Ballybreeze also warrant a mention.
Jonathan Neesom

Curragh

1.40: Immutable

Went close against a well-fancied stablemate of Vampire Slayer at Listowel on his second start; handled soft ground then and also when winning a Gowran maiden last week; opening mark looks reasonable, holds a fighting chance of conceding weight to four rivals.
Alan Sweetman

Fakenham

4.45: Al Zaraqaan

This looks a good opportunity for Al Zaraqaan to complete a hat-trick, with his Flat abilities suggesting he should have more up his sleeve in this sphere. Coastguard Station can chase him home if bouncing back, while Saligo Bay is not ruled out.
Jonathan Doidge

Kempton

8.30: Anisoptera

Stepping up to 2m could prompt better from both World Without Love and Wannabe Brave but the key formline could be the C&D handicap four weeks ago which saw Blazeon Five finish in front of Stiletto and Anisoptera. Blazeon Five retains potential as a stayer and is greatly respected but the selection was returning from a long spell on the sidelines and tanked through the race before tiring late on. She could take a good step forward with that run behind her.
Paul Smith

Nottingham

1.35: Metabolt

Harswell Duke completed a double when scoring in the mud at Leicester on Monday and he should make another bold bid under a penalty. Recent Pontefract winner Cisco Disco is also strongly respected, while the handicap newcomer Colombidea needs checking in the market. However, the vote goes to Dave Loughnane's lightly raced three-year-old Metabolt, who was an eyecatching fourth in a big field at Chester on his handicap debut and is open to more progress on this step back up in trip.
