However, it's very hard to side against the thriving Royal Prospect who notched his second C&D success of the summer in smooth fashion last week and looks weighted to go in again under a 4lb penalty, with the runner-up having scored since.

The vote goes to Just Fine, who is on a workable mark having received some clemency from the assessor. He is a tempting proposition off 4lb lower than when running respectably in the John Smith's Cup, especially as that form has been boosted since. Second choice is Bell Rock who, like the selection, has become favourably handicapped. King Triton is third on the list, ahead of Isla Kai and Vulcan. Mujtaba and Legend Of Dubai let supporters down the last twice but they can't be written off yet.

Red Showgirl is well handicapped if all the better for a break and she can go well when fresh, but Rich Rhythm probably has better days ahead of him. Unraced at two, he looked progressive when winning at Windsor and his dam won on Polytrack. None of the seven are ruled out with confidence.
