Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings
Selections from Chelmsford, Ludlow, Newbury, Sedgefield and Thurles

Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Chelmsford
6.00: Angle Land
Some of the big players on recent form are among the possible pacesetters, which complicates the picture somewhat. Tactics aside, ANGLE LAND has a particularly strong chance at the weights and looks capable of reversing last week's C&D placings with Ornate who is respected all the same. Thank The Lord, who looks open to further progress, is the suggested second choice. Howzak and Dark Side Prince also need a mention.
Steve Boow
Ludlow
3.49: Trixster
It is hard to eliminate any of these but TRIXSTER, despite being the oldest in the field, is progressive as a chaser and can gain a second success over fences. Grace A Vous Enki may be taken on for the lead by Topofthecotswolds but could still provide the biggest danger.
Jonathan Neesom

Newbury
3.42: Striking A Pose
Le Cameleon is probably the most solid one to run well. He could still be vulnerable to an improver, however, and the youngster STRIKING A POSE could be just the type to raise his game and continue Joe Tizzard's success of recent days. Java Point did very well last term. Northern Bound's fine strike-rate over fences has almost entirely been registered on good ground.
Richard Austen
Sedgefield
4.05: Doireann
The hat-trick-seeking Boomtime Banker is edging up the weights only slowly and could go in again but she meets a serious rival in DOIREANN. Stuart Edmunds' lightly raced 5yo has two pieces of form from last winter that suggest she can win a race of this nature, and she's selected to make a successful return from wind surgery. Stable switchers Humps And Bumps and Le Fou's Keep are others to consider.
Richard O'Brien
Thurles
1.05: Winding River
This looks like a good opportunity for WINDING RIVER who only found one too good last time out and can put his experience to good use in this. Prince Zaltar could be the main danger if he takes to fences.
Phill Anderson
