Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings
Tuesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Brighton
4.28: Counterattack
Silver Bubble (second choice) comes here on the up and her proven ability on slow ground makes her of more interest than Celestial Point. Both may have to give best to Counterattack (nap), though, with George Boughey's three-year-old still learning his job when failing to justify favouritism at Chelmsford on his recent handicap debut. Today's step up in distance can unlock further progress.
Paul Smith
Galway
1.50: Time Marches On
Four of these are running in a handicap for the first time including 2m Navan maiden winner Pats Choice who should be suited by this trip. However, preference is for Time Marches On (nap) who has run well in bumpers and maiden hurdles and may benefit from the addition of cheekpieces. Hgranca De Thaix should go close if reappearing in peak form after a good break.
Alan Sweetman
Huntingdon
4.00: Sparkling Dawn
The ten-year-old Sparkling Dawn (nap) has low mileage for one of her age and the narrow failure on her debut for this yard was after a break, so she's able when fresh. Samatian was making some progress back in the spring and he's feared most after wind surgery. Runwiththetide has it in her to go well if rediscovering some spark.
Alistair Jones
Leicester
3.45: Eeh Bah Gum
A hat-trick may well be on the cards for Eeh Bah Gum (nap), who remains well handicapped on the form he showed in his younger days. Last year's runner-up Four Adaay is second choice, ahead of the consistent Glamorous Breeze. The drop to 5f is the question mark for Alcazan, who otherwise has an attractive profile.
Steve Boow
Southwell
7.00: American Belle
Despite being bred for speed, Miss Gallagher again shaped as though tonight's trip would suit when going close off 2lb lower on her recent nursery debut here. She's respected but this looks good for American Belle (nap), who didn't have the race run to suit when down to 6f from a wide stall last time and remains open to improvement.
