Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings
Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Dundalk
7.30: Phoenix Open
It was a big run from PHOENIX OPEN to finish a close fourth over an insufficient seven furlongs last time and with the return to a mile sure to be in his favour, he's the one to beat from the same handicap mark. Course and distance winner, Miracles In May, is another that will appreciate a return to further and Arch Enemy is back on a good mark.
Phill Anderson
Huntingdon
3.00: Perseus Way
Although only on a par with a few of today's rivals on the Flat, PERSEUS WAY is not easily opposed after running so well in a Grade 2 at Chepstow over Christmas. There's no knocking that form when the winner ran well behind Triumph favourite Lossiemouth in Ireland the time before. Start In Front could be the danger given the positive impression that he made at Wetherby, while Polyphonic should finish closer to the selection than when they met at Leicester earlier in the season.
Alistair Jones
Lingfield
1.10: Incrimination
Lightly raced INCRIMINATION is taken to progress further and follow up last week's C&D success. El Hombre, who is considerably more exposed but avoids a penalty for his Chelmsford win, is feared most ahead of Swiss Pride.
Steve Boow
Newcastle
7.15: Mehmo
Preference is for MEHMO, who escapes a penalty for his brave success at Southwell on Tuesday and may well be able to strike again to make it 2-4 since joining Mick Appleby. Zoom Star scored at Catterick in her final run in the autumn and is a big danger if she can transfer that form back to AW on her return. Triple Tapeta winner Nellie French has reached the frame in her last four starts and remains feasibly treated, while Kraken Power won over C&D yesterday.
David Moon
Sedgefield
1.50: Maillot Blanc
Having won with authority at Hereford nine days ago, MAILLOT BLANC is due to have an 8lb higher mark in future handicaps. The others to consider seriously on last-time-out form are the Newcastle second and third Coral Blue and Socks Off, with Astroman also having recent form. Socks Off may fare the best of those this time.
