Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Today's fancies from Kempton, Nottingham, Punchestown and elsewhere

Wednesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Kempton

7.30: Bobby On The Beat

Gherkin looks set to bounce back from a poor showing on heavy ground but Bobby On The Beat looks the one to be on. He did well to stick on for third having worked pretty hard to get across from stall 12 at Chelmsford last time.
Andrew Cooper

Nottingham

4.40: Fantasy Master

Nottingham specialist Fantasy Master is taken to defy a 6lb rise and record another course win. He's still fresh, having raced only three times for his new stable this year, and Andrea Atzeni again takes the ride. Fast Response, who has been threatening to get back on the scoresheet, is feared most ahead of Zim Baby, Ava Go Joe and Sound Reason.
Steve Boow

Punchestown

2.10: Marine Nationale

This looks like a good opportunity for the unbeaten Marine Nationale to open his account over timber after two facile wins in bumpers so far. Hisnameis Mrdevitt wasn't at his best last time but he could be the one to chase the selection home if he returns to his previous level of form.

Wetherby

3.40: Teescomponents Lad

Following two fourths and a second in this race in the last three years, Teescomponents Lad can finally hit the target. Conditions are ideal, he goes well for Tom Midgley and he should now be at concert pitch after shaping encouragingly at Perth last month. The upwardly mobile Hillview may provide the main threat, with the in-form Caius Marcius third on the list.
Richard O'Brien

Wolverhampton

3.50: The Nail Gunner

The vote goes to The Nail Gunner, who has a record of 3-4 in handicaps at this track and made it three wins from his last six starts when making all over course-and-distance last time. Dual course winner Porfin caught the eye with his strong finish here last Monday and he's feared most on his step back up in trip. Mumcat and Araifjan finished close up behind the selection here two weeks ago and they're respected, while others who could have a big part to play are Gidwa and Madame Fenella.
