Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's eight meetings

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Ascot

4.20: Crystal Caprice

Sir Michael Stoute's Crystal Caprice (nap) impressed in the way she put her Goodwood handicap to bed in the blink of an eye and, in keeping with her pedigree, she looks to have Group-race potential. This will test her, though, as Tarrabb is on the march after impressing in her last two wins and Don't Tell Claire, who is only 1lb higher than when winning this last year, made a timely return to form at Sandown a fortnight ago.

Haydock

2.20: Irish Lullaby

A race packed with interesting and plausible contenders. The two best options may well be at the top of the weights, with Irish Lullaby (nap) and Thundering having performed well in competitive 1m4f handicaps last time while looking very strong candidates for 1m6f. Jessica Harrington's Nathaniel filly makes particular appeal. Sarsons Risk and Jacovec Cavern made a favourable impression with their wins at a lower level last week, while Tamilla makes the strongest appeal among a group of more lightly raced runners.
Richard Austen

Kempton

2.05: Mostahdaf

Group 1 winner Gear Up has plenty to recommend him as he comes into this in good form and his pedigree suggests he has a good chance of taking to the surface, while fellow all-weather newcomer Dubai Honour (second choice) has also been successful in a higher grade than this and has no Baaeed to worry about this time. However, the vote goes to Mostahdaf (nap) who has to put his poor effort at Newmarket last time behind him but is 2-2 on the all-weather and his stable has a fine record in this race.

Navan

3.40: Redressed

There was plenty of encouragement to be taken from the debut effort of Redressed (nap) at Gowran and she gets the vote. The Joseph O'Brien-trained pair Native Queen and Selador may be her chief threats although Musical Rhapsody could go well at a price.
Mark Nunan

Stratford

4.09: Ten Ten Twenty

Several of these are capable of running well but Ten Ten Twenty (nap) is on a very tasty mark after his maiden win on Wednesday and is very hard to oppose. Sergeant and Lucky Lover Boy (in that order) head the threats.
Jonathan Neesom

Thirsk

5.11: Captain Kane

George Scott's Captain Kane (nap) is having a year to remember and it may well get even better here in a race that should be run to suit his hold-up style. Although penalised for beating just three rivals last week at Beverley, that was never in doubt. The admirably consistent Molinari should again be on the premises and the unexposed Chillingham also comes into it, as do several others.
Alistair Jones

Wexford

5.05: Filon D'Oudairies

Not many of these come into the race in stellar form. Top-weight Brideswell Lad looks a progressive chaser and should go close, but preference is for Filon D'Oudairies (nap), a good second at Killarney last month and 2lb lower than when winning over C&D last year.
Justin O'Hanlon

Wolverhampton

4.40: Maylah

The most striking contender is the progressive four-year-old Maylah (nap), who made it 2-4 for Mick Appleby when forging clear in a classified event at Chelmsford and is a major player again back in a handicap. Opticality was a clear second behind an improver at Ffos Las last week and she's feared most, ahead of ten-time course winner Street Poet who has been in good form at Chelmsford recently. The other one on the shortlist is last year's winner Far From A Ruby, who had an excuse at Catterick last time.
