Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's eight meetings

Sunday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Catterick

3.00: Tom Creen

Skyhill (second choice) is a likeable sort who comes here on the back of a gutsy Sedgefield victory but he could have plenty on trying to concede 2lb to Tom Creen, who looked well ahead of his mark when making a winning chase debut for Sam England and can follow up. Course-and-distance scorer The Very Thing appeals as the pick of the rest for place purposes.
Peter Entwistle

Cheltenham

1.55: Coconut Splash

Judged on his point/hurdles form, this switch to a big field could well enable the consistent Coconut Splash to record a first chase success. He's interesting off a workable mark and low weight in this ideal-looking scenario. Second choice is Fantastic Lady, a progressive mare who has some strong pieces of form. Midnight River (third choice) and Il Ridoto are players, having performed well in the Paddy Power here seven weeks ago, while Stolen Silver remains of interest and Brave Seasca has an impressive record in handicaps. A few others also have possibilities in a typically competitive race of its type.
Steve Boow

Exeter

12.55: Annie Magic

Dual novice winner Marsh Wren has good claims if ready to roll after her layoff but the most obvious answer is Annie Magic, who floored the odds-on favourite with a dominant display at Wincanton last month and has plenty of scope for further progress.
Chris Wilson

Fairyhouse

2.00: Sulafaat

This looks like a good opportunity for four-time Flat winner Sulafaat to open her hurdles account after an encouraging Galway third. Tony Martin's runner Elle Dorado Rock is relatively unexposed and is tacking lesser opposition than on his first two handicap starts. Cher Why Not and Mahler Appeal could also feature.
Alan Sweetman

Fakenham

1.45: Lincoln Lyn

Mares' handicap hurdle winner Lincoln Lyn shaped with plenty of promise on her chase debut last time and can get off the mark over fences by beating Another Mystery and Colemanstown Lad.
Colin Russell

Musselburgh

1.35: Cooper's Cross

The progressive eight-year-old Cooper's Cross did well to finish third at Aintree last time having ploughed through the third-last fence, and today's company looks less competitive. He's the selection ahead of Pay The Piper, who could relish the step back up in trip having stayed on for third over 2m1f at Kelso last time. Topweight Minella Drama and the in-form Half Shot are others to consider.
Ben Hutton

Southwell

2.16: Mayfair Gold

Tough front-runner Queen Of Burgundy found it easier at this lower level last time and won't mind the step back up from 7f. She's respected but is taken on with Mayfair Gold, a lightly raced half-sister to a Tapeta winner who continued her progress last time despite again showing signs of greenness.
Graham Wheldon

Tramore

3.25: Beating The Odds

Placed behind well-handicapped winners on his last two starts, this could now be the time for Beating The Odds. Shes Some Doll could emerge the greatest threat.
Alan Hewison
