Mudlark can revel in conditions off a lower mark

Shortbackandsides has been well beaten on both his starts this season, but they came on good ground and he will be a different horse on the rain-softened ground at Haydock.

He can race off a lower mark than when second under similar conditions at Ayr and Ripon last season and a repeat of that level of form would give him an excellent chance in the CJM Maintenance Handicap (6.55).
