More to come from unexposed stayer in low berth

Homeserve Huxley Stakes
Key trends
- Aged four or five, ten winners in last ten runnings
- Adjusted Racing Post Rating of at least 123, 9/10
- Within 7lb of RPR top-rated, 9/10
- Distance winner, 8/10
- Had already run in current season, 6/10
- Winner of a Listed or Group race, 6/10
Other factors
Five winners went off favourite.
Verdict
Eminent is the best horse in the field but the balance of recent winners slightly favours those who have had a recent run and he can be opposed.
The two to come out best on the trends are Frankuus and War Decree, with the latter preferred. He was well beaten in a Group 1 in Dubai last time but he is good enough for this level. Forest Ranger looked an improved performer when winning at Newmarket last month but has yet to prove he stays this far.
188Bet Chester Cup
Key trends
- Officially rated 93 to 99, 10/10
- Carried no more than 9st 4lb, 9/10
- Aged four to six, 8/10
- Drawn no higher than 11, 9/10
- At least one top-three finish within last two starts, 6/10
Other factors
Of the 40 horses to finish in the first four, 27 were drawn lower than ten.
Eight winners were making their seasonal reappearance, but five of them had been hurdling.
Verdict
The three to meet all the criteria are Grandee, Dubawi Fifty and Stargazer. Stamina is a question mark for Grandee but he has a fine chance if passing that test.
The trip won’t be a problem for Dubawi Fifty, who doesn’t have a disastrous draw in ten, but preference is for Stargazer, who is better berthed in four. Philip Kirby’s five-year-old is unexposed and there’s better to come.
